Random Creations is the brainchild of an Olympic-level overthinker who is a Teacher of the Deaf by day and a professional hobbyist by night, someone whose life changed forever the minute they clapped their eager little hands around a cold lump of clay!

They say when you know, you know and I used to think how admirable it was when I witnessed others become smitten once they’d found their “one true love”. Well, to each their own but as a fully fledged, serial hobbyist, finding ‘the one’ couldn’t have been further from my mind. It just seemed so limiting and definitely not for me. Well, how wrong was I?! From that first spin of the wheel, I knew I’d found something very special. This was different from every other hobby I’d ever experienced and I could feel myself falling fast! I know, you’re probably thinking that it all was moving far too quickly! At the time, I could tell people were predicting it would just a be a flash in the pan!! However, as my penchant for pottery grew, I knew I’d never look at another hobby in the same way again and finally, my naysayers were silent!

I take my inspiration from literally anything or anywhere whether it be from my love of animals, or from something funny I may have stumbled across that day! Sometimes it’s simply a random thought that sprouts into an idea. I love how diverse clay can be! From being used to portray the most artistic of interpretations, to a cute sausage dog wearing a party hat, simply because you like dogs and parties…. and hats, of course! Inspiration can come with absolutely no rhyme or reason!!! I love it !!

No two creations are ever exactly the same, each one unique with their own sense of wonky wonderfulness!!! Each piece leaves the kiln with its own set of quirks, and I love the fact that they are perfectly imperfect, just like we all are!!
